Obituary for Donald J. Humpert

Donald J. Humpert, 73, of Reese, died Tuesday afternoon, July 3, 2018 at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Frankenmuth. He was born April 27, 1945 in Denmark Township, Tuscola County, son of the late Norbert C. and Margaret (Bauer) Humpert. Don was a graduate of Reese High School and was employed as a truck driver for Burdick Seeds in Saginaw for several years. He later was employed by Eaton Manufacturing in Vassar. Don was a former member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Reese and enjoyed watching birds, gardening and Detroit Tigers Baseball.

Surviving are his three sisters, Dora Haubenstricker and her husband Maynard of Frankenmuth; Helen Humpert of Caro and Judy Knowlton and her husband Steve of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and his great grandnieces. In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by his brother, Norbert V. Humpert and his infant sister, Mary Margaret Humpert.

Funeral Services for Don will take place at 12 noon Friday, July 6, 2018 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St in Reese. Father Christian Tabares will officiate with burial to follow in the St. Elizabeth Catholic Cemetery in Reese. Don’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider, Old Town Christian Outreach in Saginaw, St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Reese or Heartland Hospice.
