Obituary for Margaret E. “Marge” Sink

Margaret E. “Marge” Sink, 93, of Reese, died early Tuesday morning, April 3, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City. She was born June 26, 1924 in Detroit, daughter of the late William M. and Esther (LaPratt) Pine. On May 16, 1945 she was married to William R. Sink in Seattle, Washington. He predeceased her July 23, 1983. She later was married to Loren Hemerline April 25, 1987 in Reese. He also predeceased her. Mrs. Sink was employed as a Secretary at the Reese High School for many years. She was a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Reese and the Alter Society. Marge enjoyed seeing her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also was an avid reader, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, traveling, and working outside around her home.

Surviving are her children and their spouses; William and Chris Sink, and Steven Sink, all of Reese; Barbara and Ray Armstrong of Bay City; and Susanne and Ted Irwin of Leslie; eight grandchildren; Greg Armstong and his wife Babette, Melissa Armstrong, Sarah Armstrong, Bethany Armstrong, Kelly Ihrig and her husband Tom, Becky Daenzer and her husband Daren, Tom and Raquel Irwin, and Lucy Irwin. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren; Jordan Sink, Olivia Rose Armstrong, Carter, Armstrong, Pierson Armstrong, Sydney Armstrong, Benjamin Irwin, Isabella Daenzer, Dawson Daenzer, Sabrina Lipan, Hudson O’Connor, Banfield McFadden, Meghan Ihrig Dillon Ihrig, her step-children; Joy Gajewski, Carol Spindler, Kaye Robinson, and Lynn Hemerline and many step-grandchildren, and dear nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and both husbands, Marge was predeceased by two brothers, Ray and Vern Pine and her sister, Mary “Alice” Humpert.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 12 Noon Friday, April 6, 2018 from the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Reese with Committal Services to follow in the St. Elizabeth Cemetery. Margaret’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese on Thursday from 3-7 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the Liturgy. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the donor’s favorite charity.
