Richard “Dick” Lee Raber, 79 of Midland, died Monday morning, February 19, 2018 at his home.

He was born January 18, 1939 in Holt, Michigan, son of the late Oscar and Emmajane (Arbour) Raber. On August 30, 1985, he married the former Deb Wilson in Flint. Richard worked at General Motors as a design engineer for over 30 years, until his retirement. In 2002 he and Deb moved to Midland to be around family. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Richard enjoyed the outdoors and had a special place in his heart for animals. His true passion in his life was his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Deb, his brothers-in-law Jim (Tammy) Wilson and David Wilson; nephews Jacob (Stephanie) Hodges and Jim Wilson Jr: grand-nephew Jacob Hodges Jr; special aunt Jane Nagel and many special friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Don Wilson.

Funeral Services for Richard will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 from the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler St., Midland MI with Reverend Mel Hunt officiating. Richard’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5 p.m. until the time of the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Humane Society of Midland County.
