Obituary for Betty R. Fielbrandt

Betty Ruth Fielbrandt, 91, of Frankenmuth, formerly of Essexville and Reese, died late Sunday evening, March 10, 2019 at her residence. She was born October 8, 1927 in Reese, daughter of the late Peter and Lydia (Salbenblatt) Bierlein and was baptized and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese. Betty was a graduate of Reese High School. On September 17, 1949 she married the “love of her life”, Norman Harry Fielbrandt in Reese. He predeceased her December 5, 2005 after fifty-six years of marriage. She was a homemaker all of her life and helped her husband farm for many years in the Reese area. Betty enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her family. She also enjoyed talking to her many friends. In her younger years she enjoyed roller-skating, and traveling to the casinos in the area. She was a faithful member of the Trinity-St. James Lutheran Church in Munger.

Surviving are her three children; Kurt Fielbrandt of Reese; Keith (Melissa) Fielbrandt of Reese; and
Kendra Wilson of North Carolina; four grandchildren; P.J. (Diane) Martindale of Clio; Kurt Fielbrandt of Grand Rapids; Lindy (Luke) Richards of Gilford; and Kody Wilson of North Carolina. Also surviving are her great grandchildren; Paul Martindale II, Henry Martindale, Stanley Martindale, Ryker Richards, Jacob Wilson, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Beth Fielbrandt, January 4, 2002, two brothers; Peter J. Bierlein Jr. and John Bierlein and her sister, Loraine Felske.

Funeral Services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2019 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw Street in Reese. Reverend Dr. Ed Kloos will officiate with entombment to follow in the Oakwood Mausoleum in Saginaw. Betty’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 3-7 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Trinity-St. James Lutheran Church, 119 E. Munger Road Munger, MI.48747 or the donor’s favorite charity.
