Obituary for Brenda Anne Jameson

Brenda Anne (Doss) Jameson was born in Glen Alum, West Virginia on June 25, 1945 in a small coal mining town just east of the Kentucky border. Like many of her generation, Brenda was born at home with the help of a mid-wife. At the time of Brenda's birth, her father was a coal miner as most were in the Appalachian Mountains. Brenda lived along the Tug River and is a direct descendant of the infamous McCoy clan. During the time of Brenda's upbringing, stories of the feuding between the Hatfield and McCoy's were always prominent and she was very proud of her family's famous heritage. Brenda was the middle child and was always very close to her brother Bud and her sister Ginger. As coal mining goes, the havoc it wreaks on one's body led Brenda's family north to Michigan. Her father was an unfortunate victim of Black Lung Disease and because of this, he needed to find work elsewhere. Michigan's automobile industry welcomed him with open arms and he took a job with Oldsmobile in Lansing, Michigan of which he retired from. This move came late in Brenda's life as a teenager. The adjustment was not always easy for Brenda as she was a shy, introverted individual and had always been surrounded by close family. Brenda graduated from Lansing Everett High School and married shortly thereafter.

After marriage, she had four children: Jody, Tracy, Bobby, and Larry were the two girls and two boys she was proud to call her own. Tragically, Jody did not survive past the age of 19 which put a hardened burden on Brenda and her first husband and they divorced several years later. Brenda became a Lake County Sheriff Deputy and worked at this career until she became married again to the love of her life John Jameson, and moved to Lake, Michigan. Upon this move, she gained employment at the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant and worked there until her retirement several years ago.

Brenda remained vigilant with her family, caring for her sons and remaining close to her daughter throughout their adult lives. Upon the passing of her second husband, she resided with her son and remained with him until her passing.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Clayton B. Doss, and her mother Vera Elizabeth Doss (McCoy), and her daughter Jody Elizabeth Dagen (Smith). She leaves several loving family members behind on this earth to carry out her wishes and memories. Daughter Tracy E. Sienko (Robert), son Robert L. Smith (Heather), son Larry L. Smith (Sarah), granddaughter Kiaya M. Vincent (Matthew), granddaughter Kliricia M. Loc, grandson Koehl N. Loc, granddaughter Myriah E. Smith, grandson Robert (Alex) Smith, grandson Brandon Smith, grandson Dillon Smith, and twin great grandsons Sebastian Vincent and Montgomery Vincent.

In keeping with Brenda’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There are no public visiting hours or services scheduled. There will be a small private memorial for Brenda's family and her closest friends. Her ashes will be inured next to her husband in Garfield Cemetery in Lake. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider donation to Brenda's Memorial through her daughter. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Directors.
