Obituary for Howard M. Holt Jr.

Howard M. Holt Jr., 71, of Reese, died late Saturday evening June 29, 2019 at his residence. He was born March 9, 1948 in Bay City, son of the late Howard and Elizabeth (Poirier) Holt Sr. and attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Bay City and Bay City Central High School. Howard served his country with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On August 4, 1972 he married the former Marilyn Lehner in Bay City. She survives him. He was a former employee of Grey Iron in Saginaw and later was employed as a furniture mover with Stevens Van Lines in Saginaw for over twenty years. His hobbies included gardening and playing pool.

Surviving besides his wife Marilyn, is his son, Guy Holt of Reese; and his daughter, Elicia Hill and her husband Steven of Reese; two grandchildren, Steven John Hill, serving with the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Germany; and Elizabeth K Hill of Reese. Also surviving are two sisters; Betty Ann Holt and her husband, Frederick Wahl, of San Carlos, California; and Shirley Fuller-Dergis of Mobile, Alabama; and his four legged companion “Sherman”. In addition to his parents, Howard was predeceased by his son Scott Claerhout and his beloved dog “Bogart”.

In keeping with Howard’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There are no visitation hours or services scheduled.
