Obituary for Pattie (Elbers) Carlton

Pattie (Elbers) Carlton, 71, of Saginaw, formerly of Reese, died Monday evening, July 8, 2019 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw. She was born December 29, 1947 in Reese, daughter of the late Frederick “Bud” and Rosemary (Kennedy) Elbers. Pattie was a 1966 graduate of Reese High School. On April 7, 1977 she was married to Herbert “Herb” Carlton in Saginaw. He survives her. Pattie was employed for over twenty years by the State of Michigan, at the Caro Center, as a housekeeper. She was also a former employee of Independence Village in Frankenmuth where she was also employed in the housekeeping department. An owner of several horses, Pattie was involved in harness racing for many years. She was a member of the Michigan Harness Racing Association, and the Northern Michigan Fair Association.

Surviving besides her husband Herb are her two sisters, Michele Elbers of Vassar; and Terri Bellamare and her husband Danny of Tucson, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Pattie was predeceased by her sister, Vicki Iaccino, July 6, 2016.

In keeping with Pattie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There are no visiting hours or services scheduled. Her cremains will be inurned next to her parents in the Blumfield Township Cemetery.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider buying clothing for underprivileged children in the Saginaw area.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Directors, 9940 Saginaw Street in Reese.
