Obituary for Raymond Duane McIntyre

Raymond Duane McIntyre, born November 13, 1928 to Duncan and Donna (Bisbing) McIntyre in Prescott, MI. Raymond, known as “Dude” most of his life, was raised in the Prescott area. In 1950 he was drafted into the U.S. Army and was sent to the Korean Conflict. After leaving the Army, he began working for General Motors as an over the road truck driver, retiring after 30 years of service. On June 29, 1980, Dude married Alice (Guest) Jean in Midland. Together they enjoyed fishing, camping in the summer, and going to Arizona in the winter. They also traveled a lot, visiting Hawaii, Alaska and many other locations. Dude was a lifelong member of the American Legion Post 165.

He is survived by his step-sons Lee A. Jean Jr. and Rick (Mary Beth) Jean, and step-daughter Diane (John) Funk, his grandchildren Jodi, Lee III, Kevin, Scott, Brian, Thomas, Eric, Frank, and Ryan, several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Dude will take place Thursday , January 31, 2019 from 4-6 p.m. at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street. A special thank you goes to the staff at Nottingham Place for their excellent care of Dude. Rather than flowers, please consider donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
