William D. Jacobs, 83 of Midland, died Monday, September 24, 2018 at Brittany Manor. He was born July 26, 1935 in Paden City, West Virginia, son of the late Thurman W. and Nellie (Shuman) Jacobs. William grew up in Bay City and graduated from Bay City Central in 1953. On July 16, 1960, he married the former Marjorie Fuller in Alma. She preceded him in death May 28, 1982. William was employed by the Dow Chemical Company in the shipping department and retired after over 30 years of service.

He is survived by his children Lawrence (Wendy) Jacobs, Robert Jacobs, and Barbara (Mark) Cooper; grandchildren Steven (Kristen) Jacobs, Matthew (Korin) Jacobs, Nathan Cooper, and Allison Cooper; great grandchildren Trey Jacobs and one on the way; as well as by his brother Gary (Lois) Jacobs.

Funeral services for William will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2018 from Calvary Baptist Church, 6100 Perrine Road. Pastor Dan Dickerson will officiate with burial to follow in Midland Memorials Gardens. His family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Calvary Baptist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Directors.
