Obituary for Gloria Jean Hickerson

Gloria Jean Hickerson, 67 of Midland, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the MidMichigan Medical Center. She was born July 29, 1950 in Midland, daughter of Mary (Elvey) Sovereen and the late Harry Hickerson. Gloria grew up with an accounting background, so it was only natural that she would someday become an accountant. She loved the clients she worked for and truly enjoyed her job. Gloria was a fun loving woman who loved a good bonfire. She also liked to watch cooking shows on T.V. and playing computer solitaire. Gloria had an extensive collection of salt and pepper shakers and keychains. Each one had its own special memory for her.

Gloria is survived by her mother Mary Sovereen; children Michelle (Kevin) Carman and Michael (Andrea) Davis; grandchildren Brandon, Alexandria, Brianna, Emerald, and Kasey; and step-grandchildren Piper and Bailey. She is also survived by her sister Teresa (Mark) Pitch, brothers Gary (Donna) Hickerson and Jeff Sovereen, and her best friend Marshall Snyder II and his children Marshall Snyder III and Noah Snyder. In addition to her father, Gloria was preceded in death by her step-father Lewis Sovereen and her sister Sharon Sovereen.

A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held on her birthday, Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 2 p.m. Please RSVP to Michelle Carman at (989) 708-2118. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the family. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Directors.
